Argh, school ends next week, but everybody is kinda subdued. Since I go to one of the best public schools in the country (and for that matter, in the world), we, as students, carry a lot of pressure to get good grades. For general purposes, the overarching concept in our school is that in order to get into college and not spend life as a janitor, one has to get A's. I've seen so many people freak the heck out when they get B's. C's and below are considered horrible.

Anyway, this, coupled with Finals and college competition, has gotten to a few of my fellow students, and in the past month, there have been two suicides. One was on May 5th, one was on the June third, and there was an attempted suicide yesterday, June fourth.

They were all at the same railroad crossing, the one I cross every day back and forth from school and back. In fact, the first one was only twenty or so minutes after I crossed the tracks. Anyway, I'm feeling kind of gloomy, like everyone else in the school.
